Grayson Chell and Cole Waldbillig of the Summerland Steam as well as McCoy Bidewell of the Fernie Ghostriders are the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 31.
Chell – 1st Star- In three games, all wins for the Steam, Chell collected three goals and seven points, including the game-winner against the Princeton Posse on Oct. 24, in which he had a three-goal, four-point performance. Chell added an assist against North Okanagan and had two assists against the Kelowna Chiefs. In nine games, the Onion Lake, Saskatchewan product has five goals and 13 points.
Bidewell – 2nd Star – In three games, Bidwell helped the Ghostriders earn two wins with a 0.96 goals against average and .973 save percentage as he made 72 saves on 74 shots. He replaced Brendan Lloyd for the shootout part of their game against Golden, in which they lost 5-4. Bidewell has six wins with a 1.94 goals against average, .951 save percentage and one shutout.
Waldbillig – 3rd Star – Waldbillig had two primary assists in the Steam’s win over Princeton, collecting three in total. He added another assist in their win over the Kelowna Chiefs on Sunday. The West Kelowna product has six assists in 10 games, leading the Steam blueline in points.
