Wyatt Sorken (Revelstoke Grizzlies), Brandon Gallo (Revelstoke Grizzlies) and Ben Lewis (Summerland Steam) have been selected as the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s first 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending September 25, 2022.
Sorken – Top Forward – The Grizzlies rookie had an incredible start to his junior career with a six-goal performance. Sorken’s effort helped lead the Grizzlies to a 9-0 win over the 100 Mile House Wranglers on Friday. Sorken had two goals after the first period, netted a hat-trick in the second period, then added his final goal in the third period.
Gallo – Top Defenceman- The KIJHL Top Defenceman from last season had a goal and five points in two games. In their win against 100 Mile House, Gallo collected two primary assists. In their second win against Golden, Gallo opened the scoring and added two assists, including a primary one.
Lewis – Top Goalie- Lewis made 24-saves in a 3-0 win over the Kelowna Chiefs on Friday for his second career KIJHL shutout. Half of Lewis’ save came in the first period. Last season in 25 games, Lewis earned 12 wins for the Steam.
