Asher Lucas of the Williams Lake Mustangs is the first Young Guns selection of the 2024-25 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season.
The Williams Lake product collected three goals, including a winner, in two games. Mustangs head coach-general manager Tyrel Lucas said the work done by the 16-year-old over the summer is helping.
“I feel like the strength that he’s gained is definitely translating to success on the ice in winning puck battles and to handle himself out there,” says Lucas, adding Asher’s goal was to make the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds. “He’s obviously a very skilled and talented player and he’s proven that at every level.”
